Ekaterinburg

Ekaterinburg is a historical city founded by Peter the Great and considered as a capital of Urals (the mountain chain between Europe and Asia). It is connected by a multitude of flights to Moscow (2 hours flight time) and some European capitals. The hotel "Onegin" in the city center, next to an Ortodox monastery, offers a charming atmosphere and classic XIXth century design combined with modern conference facilities for a relatively low cost (a single room would cost around 60 euro per day, breakfast included).
A rich social, cultural, and gastronomic program will be offered to the conference participants.

High season in Ekaterinburg comes in June, July and August bringing an excellent weather with an average temperature of +20.0°C...+21.8°C. There are the least rains in this popular city during summertime, within 3 days a month, from 37.5 to 47.8 mm of precipitation falls.

Venue & accomodation

ICP2DC6 will be held at the four-star “Onegin” Hotel, that is located in the historical center of Ekaterinburg.

The founders of “Onegin” decided not just to build a modern and comfortable hotel in the downtown: they created an original concept of a hotel combining the spirit of a XIXth century nobelman house with the modern set of top-standard facilities and services.

The hotel guests enjoy special offers and discounts by
The Yeltsin Center, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Puppet Theater,
the Museum of Military Equipment of Verkhnyaya Pyshma,
the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg, the Radio Museum,
the Museum of Stone-Cutting Art, the Museum of the Nevyanskaya Icon.

It is enough to show the hotel key card at the entrance to get a discount at each of these locations.

EXCURSION

Бажовские места

The conference participants will be lucky to take a walk in the Bazhovskie Mesto natural park - one of the youngest in the Sverdlovsk region, created in 2007, where Talkov Kamen has become one of the main objects for tourism. A beautiful pine forest, indented with hiking trails of varying difficulty, beaver dams and picturesque places for recreation.

The conference excursion will bring us to the natural resort “Bazhov park” famous for its beautiful pine forests and a natural wonder: the Talkov Stone, a crystal clear lake formed in an ancient mine. A lunch based on traditional local dishes will be offered to the conference participants under an open air on the banks of this spectacular lake.
